Looking at a used 1630 w/ front loader. It has 410 hours, but don't know what year it is. Salesman said it came off their rental lot and therefore he knows all the maintenance was done. It looks to be in good shape. he wants $15K.Is this good or bad. what questions should I ask. I am new to this and a need a tractor for a 20 acre horse farm. Thanx.

I think you can buy a bluebook for tractors online somewhere, maybe someone can post this??? I don't have a clue what the price of a NH is but I average about 100 hrs. a year on my JD. ....

I just bought a 1630 with 231 hours and the price was 12K. A new frontend loader was a $3500 option. The date of manufacture is located on a tag attached to the transmission on the left side of the tractor. Under the title of UNIT. The first number is the last digit of the year. The second is a letter for the month,e.g. E=May,F=June,G=July. ....

I hate to be the wet blanket but because the dealer had it does not mean all maint performed properly. I bought a 1215 and the oil had been changed by my dealer. THe thing kept overheating until I figured there was too much oil in it. Their mechanics were used to bigger stuff and didn't think. Luckily no damage.
BTW dont put four whole quarts in a 1215. Te He!!:-) ....
